This morning by means of a showcase, Capcom announced the release date of Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil Village launches May 7, 2021.
Originally stated mid-2020, Resident Evil was being made only for Playstation 5, Xbox X|S and Steam; during the showcase Resident Evil Village Producer, Pete Fabiano, stated that they’ve been working hard to allow the game to be released on current gen consoles, and then confirmed that the Playtstaion 4 (PS4) and Xbox One version of the game will be released on the same day as next-gen consoles.
For the Playstation fans, the PS4 version of the game will include a free upgrade to the PS5 digital version.
There are a few different versions of the game; Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition. Both of which offer bonus items and memorabilia for hardcore fans.
Capcom have also announced for Playstation 5 owners that there is a demo available to play right now so players can experience the detailed RE Village world before the game drops in May. The demo doesn’t contain gameplay of the main story but rather a side-story set at a different time than the main story. Players will take on the agency of a woman character only known as the ‘maiden’ and players must find a way out of the castle. Capcom are describing this demo as an exploratory piece rather than combatant play-through; stating that there is no combat or blocking in the demo.
In addition to all of the above Resident Evil Village news, Capcom are introducing a brand-new online multiplayer game titled Resident Evil Re:Verse. Players can play their favourite RE characters and battle it out across different locales from the RE universe.
Just like Resident Evil VII (Biohazard), RE Village will be in the first-person perspective. So, it may be a good time to stock up on some accessories that will help you get an advantage, like the Powerwave FPS Aim Assist Pack for PS5 or the Trigger Stop and Grip Pack for PS5.
